LAST ONE! and hamburgers were readdddY! some were really really pretty and yummy and scrumptious looking. WOW. I really didn't expect that. BUT. asheen was getting to be noisy AND she stained my shirt! Ah. but material goods. I decided not to get angry. hehe. I was feeling that she was getting on phumi's nerves too. hehehe. tsk tsk Asheen.
Most of the people were wayyyyyy finished before this week with their hamburgers. So besides that Mrs.Kerr gave them a teeny project to work on.
step 1 : colour a piece of drawing paper with LOTS of colour = crayon.
step 2 : use black pelaka to cover all that up
step 3 : scrape a nice design off using a compass. or something sharp.
this was pretty. why didn't we do that sooner?
I helped Naeil make a border :) so happy with that.
hahahahha

Netball - Last one for the term
230309
what IS IT with people and skipping ECA's the week before sch ends?
anyway.....there were 4. a large number i know but FOUR people in netball.
1.Me
2.Carol
3.Michelle
4.Apple
BUT. surprisingly. we had tons of fun.
for warm up, me and carol ran half a round of the field. TIRING surprisingly. hahaha.
THEN, we worked on gettting balls in the hoop. Shooting. non=stop. so yay! we worked on scoring goals and how to be goal shooter. We really got better........the fewer people....the more you learn! AND, what I learned was, for netball, since people are allowed to mark you.....the ball has to go higher over the head for shots to be made, that way...it is easier to make shots. estimation still needs work. BUT it is definitely better than before :D
NEXT. we played a game. Me & Michelle VS Carol & Apple.
3 passes before a goal using 2/3 court. FUN. AGGRESIVE. at moments VERY CORNY. we had carol rolling on the "grass" and Me getting my contacts knocked out of my eye. @@
BUT. lastly, Me and Michelle won! hahahaha... doesn't matter who won actually....I just like to know that now I am more confident to make shots knowing that 1 out of a few million MAY go in ;)
will miss netball actually.....wow.

Remember that day when I helped gem ENJOY helping hands and translated for this little who could only speak chinese?
oh well....it seems like i'm indispensable AND i am needed by the helping hands....to help out.
hahah....anyway, at first I was like, wasn't there kids there that SPEAK biblical chinese lingo? and that teacher? What am I needed for?! But oh well, for the sake of peace and happiness, I voluntarily head down to Helping Hands room.
It was quite......boring. But oh well, i learned that you have to make your own fun. Today they were learning on how to be pure, be it physically, mentally or emotionally. At first...I was like, confident about my linguistic skills. HOWEVER, given the word, "pure" I realised my chinese was worse than the B3 I got for SPM. WHAT?! ok. I need to polish up on...CHINESE. ugh ugh ugh ughhhhh......but oh well. to think on the bright side....china is on tis way to dominate the world market. I might as well have my options open by SPEAKING the chinese language, next up is....cantonese though? HEE HEE.
Anyway, the kids like me. And I enjoy feeling young again. So forever now, I am a helper in Helping Hands. Guess I have to resign as a scribe in Pathfinders. sorry alvin.......>_<

ok. I don't know what is wrong with everyone today. They all decided NOT TO COME. ok. not ALL. just a majority. Anyway, since there were so few people. We did only so few things. Suzie read out this article Mr.Weatherly took from the newspaper to all of us regarding global warming. She also reminded us of th Earth Hour event on saturday that we were to support.
After that, we watched this little video on environment.
PHOTOGRAPHIC EVIDENCE.
there was meeting okkk???
just a pretty useless one.
although I was suddenly aware of earth hour and grew in knowledge about global warming......

Badminton - the week after R4L
220309
woooo.....i forgot how tiring badminton could be.....ESPECIALLY at 8am in the morning....
so anyway, highlights of the morning......i was set to play with these 2 girls who were not from the uplands group. 1 cocky girl who was actually quite good, but since she was cocky......ok you get the idea. (note to self: NEVER be cocky in any games you play. it just comes of as so.....stuck up) 1 tiny girl who was always hit soft balls but was actually quite good. :) I respect her as an opponent, she worked hard. HOWEVER, there was absolutely NO teamwork between the two. so many times I hit balls that fell between the area of the two ppl and not one of them ran to hit it. WHAT?! its like they travel in 2 different circles of their own.....like come onnnn......this is a BADMINTON game.....and you're on the SAME TEAM. ugh. 2nd lesson learnt that day. play to win. cooperate even with partners you do not have a perfect liking to.
Next, while I was busying myself playing against "the-two-who-do-not-cooperate" I was lucky to see that my estimation skills weren't up to date~! NOOOO!!! Lucky though, because of them, I managed to fix that. The cocky girl, would ALWAYS hit balls that I thought would never ever go over the net. but, somehow, MAGICALLY, they would always fall over. WHAT?! So, everytime the ball flew over.....I was aware....AWARE i tell you! and I actually managed to get all the balls that DID fly over the net. :D thank you "two-who-do-not-cooperate"
Thats it.
Next week is my planned last week. wheeeeeeeeeee

Relay for life!
140309 - 150309
YES. it was over the course of two days. I actually didn't sleep. REALLY. ya. REALLY. i was awake. not walking but staring at the stars and eating roasted marshmallows. joining those stupid games they played at night and watching performances. PURE FUN tho.
i arrived late, since my sabbath ends at 7:30pm. so i reached after sabbath ended and started walking! woohoo! at first EVERYONE was excited. ppl screaming, cheering, shouting waving banners.....hmmm.....till it hit 8:30pm. energy was draining...... but stil. some were going strong. like those marathon runners. woo! till 5am, they r still RUNNING. its a walk-ing thing, yet they run. AMAZING. anyway, we stopped at 8:30pm if not mistaken, to light the candles in paper bags lining the inner ring of the circle we were walking along. it was such a pretty sight....too bad it didn't get caught on camera. :( BUT what DID get caught on camera were the glow-in-dark sticks we got for free! yay for mr.skinner!
after a while, it rained. and we weren't allowed to walk. aww....so ppl started to pile under those tents selling food. good business for them! FOOD was a definite hit. not to mention the fried chicken that i wanted to get but couldn't get :(
After it wasn't compulsory for everyone to walk on that tiny plot of land called a field. (yea, ppl complain that its a tad too small to hold an event as bi as a fund raiser but *shrugs* who cares? its for charity people!!! AND CANCER!!!) we decided to plan who was gonna walk first and everything. I think I got chosen to be walking first, but I didn't mind :) walking is healthy, its for charity and i hate arguing. so yea, i went walking first. Fighting would just make the day a bad one. and a longggg night it was going to be....
anyway, after that, walking walking walking....saw people running....saw couples coupling......saw people walking in the wrong direction....but oh well...either way...its for charity. So basically. I walked all night. i was awake for ryu's band performance and the game that my church friend won. hehe. she won packets of maggie mee! yay for them....at one point. when I was staring at the stars at 4am, i almost dozed off!! I know its allowed and all, but i wanted to keep a clean record of not sleeping throughout the whole event. ^_^ succeeded! due to the snoring of SOME PEOPLE.....*hmph*
ok....for awhile...i admit i ditched uplands for my church ppl :P
they were so cool! they were walking around singing songs that were so "spirit-lifting" and later....we found out that they won certificates for most spirited group! yay for them!
AND. i almost won adidas wirstbands!!!!! noooooooooooo!!!!!!!! but people beat me to itttt...T_T hahaha..oh well...only those who were awake for that race knew what was going on.....we had to find 3 different members from different groups....n we did! BUT. *sighs* once again.too little too late! noooooo
oh well....after marshmallows. it was time for breakfast. had those peanut pancakes and thn we all drudged home. got a lift with iyune :) thank you iyune

Art attack - more hamburger box
100309
More hamburger boxes are being done. and honestly? i'm starting to get sick of it.
Mrs Kerr announces that Art Attack is coming to an end. and we have to have one more activity that requires only 2 weeks of making. ahhhh....thank goodness I already did my activity. :D
So this time I go back to helping atheena. She is actually quite good at paper-macheing. She does the part which i hate the most. Actually getting the loose bits of toilet roll in place and i do the rest. Its fun painting all those stuff down. :)
But this time i get to know this girl who apparently has been to a local school before. She's really REALLY talkative and nice :) talks about literally EVERYTHING under the sun, yet is really commanding. Well she talks about slamdunk millionaire. Anyway, i thought she would have everything under control. Her work and all. But she asks me for help with it. I feel touched that people want my help. I honestly love to help. Because it makes ppl happy :D
So anyway, many still haven't finished this art work yet.
i wonderrr....will it last for the end of this term or will another one be needed? Haha. i'm reading too much Aunt Julia.

Did you notice that i skipped one month of badminton?
hehehehe....well yea i did. and this week was the first of the coming month that i do it again.....wake up early sunday morning to play that wonderful sport. BADMINTON.
Today.....we started out warm-ups again, hitting the ball. I really wanted to just sweat and feel myself losing those calories. So i hit the balls. and play doubles with everyone.
Soon, the boys want to play doubles. ok. we choose partners by doing this lame thing "la la li la tam pong" I get yitong and we go against Peter and Janice. HAHAHHAHAHHAH Janice was NOT in a good mood. She was bored. but playing with yitong is fun. I am learning how to smash from him! IT IS MY RESOLUTION.
unfortunately. next week is relay for life. no badminton. :)

Pathfinder - To helping hands.
080309
Last week Aunty Monica asked me to help lead song service for the Adventurer Club, which is basically like the pathfinderrs, just a whole lot younger. I thought that was all I would be doing....turns out. The whole day I surrounded myself with little kids. Oh well, service for the children yes? :)
Anyway, I sang all those songs that required actions and dancing. haha. just to amuse little kids. Honestly. I was alot of fun. They don't care if you sing the lyrics wrong.....because they get it wrong too. They don't care if you look stupid.....because they like it that way. and They don't care if you mess up....cause they do too. And they're so...suporting. Energy, hyper. everything. Everything you do, they WILL follow. Its so awesome. I'd rather do song service for them than the pathfinders actually. Next, I was only planning to stay for the story given by Michael called "Freddie the Frog" all about patience that one is. BUT. gem comes running up to me and says "are you coming to class with me?" with those cute girly eyes. ARGH. i give in and be her "guardian" for the day.
Gem's class is called the Helping Hands. Its small and full of kids her age, like around 9 yrs. and you know what? LUCKY i went! there was this new kid that only spoke chinese. me being able to speak chinese...and Aunty Maria NOT being able to.....hhaha...was a bonus for me. I was a translator for the day. It was awesome! They learned how to be true. true to family, friends and anything in between.
SUMMARY : I feel older than i actually am. o_O? why? because gem treats me as if i am.....

UES - uh oh
040309
Last week, apparently they had a meeting? ARGH. I go into the room, find out there is no meeting, go up the bus to be fetched home, Bindiya says there is UES, she runs down only to run up again saying there's none again AND YET THERE STILL IS UES?! how efficient of Uplands..........*sceptical*
but anyway, no matter, this week we HAVE UES and our supervisor teacher (is it Mr.Weatherly or Mr Pouwer I have no idea) gives this inspirational talk on motivating others to know more about the environment, us being proactive and increasing our knowledge in environmental issues. THEY ARE FOLLOWERS IN THE BIG GROUP OF PEOPLE. ._. it could be me....... oh but anyway, i have a feeling the talk didn't have any affect whatsoever and i can conclude that we are still a damn lazy bunch of kids trying to fulfill our CAS hours. :P
I get dragged off to wash bottles with Ivan, Boom, Jason and Mark. Its normal, nothing spectacular, nothing boring. You JUST WASH. however, it is a little icky, people stuff the most unusual stuff in that recycling bin o_O
washing takes time but I get to know more about the people in Uplands through this time. :) its nice. Next up. we deposit the washed bottles somewhere behind the Art room and Ivan says we need to make a sign. We head back to the DT classroom....to find....people hanging out. WOW. that talk REALLY did not have the slightest affect. amazed yet......kind of expected. hehe. Anyway, we eventually get chased out. Ivan does the sign and we go spray one of the bins red for the upcoming battle between houses. Upcoming as in next year or whenever we feel like it. hehe.
That pretty much sums it up. I like to help. I don't mind leading, but helping is much better for now. I still feel brand new to Uplands.
I AM PSYCHED FOR MY COCONUT IDEA THO. I LOVE IT! ahhahahahha. <-- i feel so....SINFUL. pride! D8

Art Attack - Hamburger box continuation
030309
We continue again doing the hamburger box which was suggested by Midori. Alot of them haven't started paper mache-ing them and a few of them haven't even started the box! But Hui Ern to the rescue!! I help this one lost girl start from the very scratch. So I find her two plastic round boxes. Help her do the top part for the bun, the "meat" part for the hamburger, and the closing bun. Then we do cheese, she makes it a double cheeseburger with 2 slices of cheese and slices of juicy red tomato. THEN, we discover that the bun is a little flat and very INdelectable. So we tear it open! stuff more newspaper inside and now it is a complete JUICY looking hamburger with a fluffy bun.
Then.....vince starts talking to me and we get scolded slightly by Mrs.Kerr. >_< oops. have to concentrate on work! we aren't here just to slack! anyway, I then migrate to helping this Tina paper mache her tomatoes and cheese. Paper mache-ing is a little messy andddd....you have to do it right. Can't just simply glue the toilet paper on! it requires skill and technique. but basically, all you have to do is make sure the toilet paper really STICKS onto every bit of the model. No point in making shapes that can't be later shown yes?
Time FLIES. bells rings. we're out!
There were pics taken by phumi and vince! UNfortunately, they don't post it up anywhere and sooo.....no pics over here. sad sad. i need to get a camera. T_T
Tonight i'm heading for prayer meeting :D
Praying calms me.

Me, jeslyn, christine, and sharose were busy handling the SUPER SUB hee hee.
